| These
bird feeders are made from gourds which have been cut in half. The two halves are
held apart by a number of dowel rods. The Tweeterfeeder gets its name from finches -
primarily goldfinches which make a "tweeting" sound sometimes when they fly
(I've been known to call them "Tweeters"). The advantage of the
Tweeterfeeder over many other bird feeders is that it favors the smaller birds - finches,
nuthatches, chickadees, etc. The larger birds like jays and grackles are too big to
fit inside. Consequently, I place our more expensive seed in these feeders.
The photo shows a chickadee at our pink feeder. He seemed to let me stand near the
feeder while he fed, but each time I triggered the flash, he moved - I finally gave up
with this "action" shot! The Tweeterfeeders are
about 6" wide 5" tall and come in a variety of colors and color combinations
(different colored top than bottom). If you have a preference, please specify in the
"Comments" section of the order form. Otherwise, we'll select one for you. |
