Gourd birdhouses are great nesting sites for many small birds and can also serve as a decorative touch indoors.  Gourds are generally about 5" wide and 8" tall.  We make use of all the "bottle" gourd family for these decorated birdhouses - including Birdhouse, Lump-in-neck, Indonesian Bottle, Penguin, and Mexican Bottle shapes.  An Indonesian Bottle gourd style is pictured.  Gourds are drilled with a 1-1/4" access hole for house wrens and have small drain holes drilled in the bottom.

The Stained Gourd Birdhouses have been stained with a leather dye to give them a deep brown color.  We have also applied a coating of wax for weather protection and a glossy finish.
