Mookie is a kitten of a tortoise shell mother. The wild mother decided to have her kittens under our deck behind our house. The Mookie and her sister kitten are wild and afraid of people - but they like to come inside our house to play. Hopefully in time they will warm up to us humans.
This was a two step photo. The kitten was afraid of people so I had to get her playing with a small stick so she would let me get close. I took the photo lying on the floor with our digital camera in the close-up mode. Next, I had just taken away the play stick and dropped it by my side - that’s what she is looking at. Lastly, I decided a traditional rectangular cropping was too "boxy" for the kitten and went with an oval instead.
