Chapter 24

And Then . . .

Author Michael Brown published the book as Adam had requested. The book quickly became the best-selling publication the world had known. It was translated into almost every language and provided a source of inspiration in every society. The author directed most of the royalties into rural areas and small cities. Large tracts of land were purchased for conversion into parks and nature areas. The author also made large personal donations into research to learn more about the physical world and how best to manage resources over the long term.
The promoters for A Day With God made a video about preparations for the event. Like most material claiming to have direct association with Adam Sampson, it was a best seller. Since the group made no effort to utilize their profits to make the world a better place, each suffered as Adam had predicted. Each died following prolonged suffering from a disease that the medical experts could not identify or control. Several members of their family suffered from the mystery disease as well with the same results.
Lisa Walters and Pastor Kanger were eventually married. They worked together on a feature film God’s Gifts To Us All and used their royalties to work in foreign countries. There they shared their experiences and helped people find the same personal relationship with God that each of them had found.
For countless generations, the story was told time and time again. The books were read and the films were viewed. As society changed, the principles that Adam enumerated were adapted to the new technologies and social conditions. When man left the earth to colonize distant worlds, they took God with them.
Never again was there any doubt that God was alive. Those that elected to not follow God’s way knew they did so with consequences. Those that did follow God’s way lived lives filled with purpose and satisfaction. Little of their time was spent ‘doing nothing’. They filled their days caring for others and making the most of their talents, resources, and ingenuity. They slept well every night and died with a sense of immense satisfaction with what they had done with their lives.
