"The second suggestion is to keep fighting until victory. You must understand that victory is a solution to conflict without the need to resort to physical force. As a result, fighting is the process of achieving the victory. You will need to engage the wisest, most talented and patient from all sides to clearly define the issues and find innovative ways to resolve the conflict. Such idea fighting can be every bit as difficult as physical fighting. To really be effective, participants need to fight as hard for their opponents ideas as they do for their own. A complete victory is achieved when everybody wins."The group gathered their things and was soon back on the highway. From time to time on their journey, Adam talked on the cellular phone to the promoters. Adams group often met with the promoters along their way, viewed audition tapes of the musical acts, listened to tapes of selected speakers, read manuscripts of material to be presented, and went over details of the gathering. Adams remarks about the proposed event material became well known to everyone since they were always the same. He required that the focus to be on the song that was being sung or material being read - and not the performance. The songs and material could not promote any religion. They were to attest to the profound influence God has in our lives, the need for us to care for our natural resources, and the need for us to work together to make the world a better place. Adam required the performers dress in a simple manner and have a delivery that encouraged the audience to think about the words or share in the singing. Any efforts to bring the focus on the performer would not be acceptable. Finally, all the details had been worked out and their journey had come to an end. It was time for A Day With God. |
