No, this is not a swimming pool! We have a small drainage ditch that runs over 1,000ft on the farm. A hundred feet or so before it leaves our property, I dug this enlargement in the ditch (flow goes from right to left). The pool allows the flowing water to slow and drop any sediment. In the middle of summer when the ditch and pool dry up, I take the tractor and drag the rich sediment to the mulch fields seen in the background. |
