This sandy hill on our Organic Farm
seems to be ideal for growing potatoes. Legend has it that the bottoms from the
adjacent mobile home park lake were once pumped onto our farm, explaining the sandy hill
on a farm that is otherwise mostly clay. I spend about a half hour here every summer
day - walking down each of the 1,200 or so plants and squishing any potato bugs I find
(Yuck!). |
