Miss Daisy is the name of our Organic Farm tractor. She is a Massey-Furgeson Model 230. She was born in 1968 and delivers 38hp for our wide variety of farm chores (mostly adult playtime). This photo shows her with the 7ft wide pivoting rake, reversed for gathering the cut grass of the Mulch Fields. I also use Miss Daisy for mobile irrigation. I started with a lifting platform on the 3 point hitch. I added 2 - 15 gallon plastic tanks, connected together. Next, I extended a landscape timber boom out the back. On the end of the boom, I mounted a 12vdc sump pump which I wired to a dash mounted switch. I back the tractor to the bank of any of our ponds, lower the boom to imerse the pump, throw the switch, and in 2-3 minutes I have 30 gallons of pond water. With the water tanks in the raised position, I drive down the rows and dispense the water through a 1-1/4" plastic hose on the end of a length of 3/4" copper pipe. Not real elegant, but affordable . . . and it works!! |
