The Marsh Pond of our Organic Farm is semi-circular and about 80ft on its long dimension. I left this pond only 2ft deep for our neighborhood ducks who like to muck on the bottom. The pond is in the lowest area of our farm and gets its water from natural runoff and springs. the Marsh Pond is connected to the East Pond by a 8" pipe under the tractor path to the left. The pond has a 4" overflow pipe on the right which feeds our drainage ditch system. In addition to being a wildlife focus, the Marsh Pond is also used for Mobile Irrigation. |

August 27, 2003 - The Marsh Pond has completely dried up and is filling in with weeds. Time to chop the weeds and scoop out the rich black sediments to add to the fields. |
