The Fairway Pond of our Organic Farm is 120 long and about 60ft wide. It runs 7ft deep and has an island in the middle. In addition to serving as a waterfowl nesting site, the island is the home of a family of muskrats. The Fairway Pond gets its name from its location - about 150 yards (9-iron) in to our home driving range. The Fairway Pond finds water from ground run-off as well as supplemental filling from the drainage ditch. A 6" overflow line returns excess water to the drainage ditch. The Fairway Pond is also used for Mobile Irrigation. |
