All work and no play . . . 
Actually the Fairway serves a couple of purposes.  Yes, as its name implies, it's a 150 yard driving range.  Actually, the farm goes on more than 300 yards, but the Fairway Pond lurks at the 150 yard distance.   It seems like I'm being punished when I hit a solid 9-iron although the splashdowns are often spectacular!

Secondly, the mowed Fairway creates an open vista in the middle of our farm.  Much like a painting, the open central area draws the eye from near to far - seeming to always invite you to "come on in!"

The second photo was taken in summer and looks over our herb garden to the fairway.  It looks like Miss Daisy has decided to rest there too and look out at the farm.
