I have always felt that ferns should have flowers.  I like the color and texture of ferns, but without some flowers, ferns seem like plain mashed potatoes.  I looked in our flower beds and found these guys which looked like they belonged to the ferns - so I created my own "Fern Flower" botanical class.

This was a digital scanner "photo".  The image usually looks better if there is variation and some flowers overlap another flower.  Although there's a couple overlapping flowers, to my eye, the ferns at the top of this image form too straight of a line.  Next season, I think I'll try this concept again and see if I can improve upon it.
