What a difference a couple months makes! During summer, the beaches are loaded with people doing all sorts of things. The summer finds Lake Michigan dotted by boats of all shapes and sizes. The St. Joseph Piers in the distance are usually covered with both fisherman and visitors taking a peaceful stroll. Now all is quiet. The Lake rests. It seems that the empty bench echoes the resting scenery before it.

This photo was all about arrangements and lighting. I carefully moved to place the foreground bench in a good position with the lighthouses in the background. I liked the way the lighting was too - the bench in a bit of shade - and by contrast the distant lighthouse in full sunlight as if being showcased by a spotlight.
