On a cold day in February, we had a fire going in our woodburning stove. The stove has a blower on it to force the warm air out into our room. Our cat Rosemary has found out that if she sits on the arm of our sofa, she gets the blast of warm air on her face. In the depths of winter, this is one that that will make a cat happy.

This photograph began with an awareness of what this cat was up to. I selected a low camera angle so I would be shooting slightly below her eyes. Next, I switched on my flash in the "fill" mode and selected a vertical format. When Rosemary closed her eyes as if she was REALLY digging it, I took the photo.
