Bert (on the right) and Ernie were enjoying a patch of sunshine for a well-deserved(?) nap.  Bert was so relaxed, he was resting with his front legs crossed.  When I was about to take the photo, I made a noise - Ernie opened her eyes, but all I got from Bert was just a peek out of one eye.

Besides liking the subjects, I liked the way the light worked in this photograph.   The stubborn-minded Bert is illuminated in full sun while Ernie seems to emerge from deep shadows.  I held the camera on the floor to take the photo eye-to-eye with them.  A standing or kneeling perspective would have missed the subtle expressions in their face and eyes.
