This inviting scene becons you to
come to the clean beaches of New Buffalo. Visitors can play on the toys, walk the
beaches, enjoy Lake Michigan, or just relax on a bench. This photo is a good example of
optical balance. The bench in the lower left balances the playground equipment on
the right. This photo is also a good example of violating a rule of photography -
the rule of thirds. Normally, the horizon should be on either the upper or lower 1/3
lines. In this setting, I wanted to use a polarizing filter to darken the clear sky
and suggest an equal balance between the earth and sky. |
