The breathtaking Grand Tetons seem to sprout from the depths of the lake on a warm summer day. This was one of those views where you stare intensely at the scene in a effort to etch the image into the depths of your memory. Every time I see this photo, I'm ready to go back there.
This Grand Teton setting is a good opportunity to utilize several photographic techniques. The first is the leading line of the shoreline on the left - it points to the mountains. The trees on the left help to balance the mountains on the right and are also an important element in creating a depth of field. The reflective surface of the water is a nice touch as well - but there's not too intense of a reflection to detract attention from the mountains. I'm ready to go back there.
