In a mountain meadow, the first brave bud opens its "arms" to the morning sun.
I have found that many photographs of flowers have more visual interest if there are various stages of a flower's life. In this case, the open flower is shown next to an unopened bud. Also note that arched stem of the flower bends upward toward the center of the photo, rather than leading a viewer's eyes to the edge of the photo. Lastly, the the grass on the left serves as a transition element to the blurred background.
