A single splotched red maple leaf sits on a bed of brown oak leaves. I'm sure there's some profound theme or social statement here - but I don't have a clue what it might be. I just took the photograph because I liked the colors and textures and lighting. Maybe that's enough.
This was an upside down photograph. I wanted to shoot straight down at the leaves to preserve the flat field of view, but in my first attempt, I noticed I was casting a shadow on the photo. I went and stood on the opposite side to take the picture. When I got the film back, I rotated it for the orientation I wanted. Pretty sneaky, huh?
